Books- Annotated Bibliography

Aldrin, B. (2009). Look to the stars. New York, NY: G.P. Putnam's Sons.
Look to the stars is a book all about the history of flying and space
travel. It is a story written in 1st person from a boy. It is very
educational and is all true but pulls in the young reader by using a
young boy to tell the story.

This book gets a 5 out of 5 for being non fiction and pulling in the
reader.

enkins, S., & Page, R. (2006). Move! Boston, MA: Houghton Mifflin Company.
This book is a great book for primary grades. The illustrations are very
good and clear. Students are learning moving and describing words.

This book gets a 4 out of 5 for creativity and education

Otoshi, K. (2008). One. San Rafael, CA: Group West.
One is a book about bullying. This book uses colors and numbers as
people. The main theme of the book is that it only takes one to make a
difference. This is a book that encourages good character. A great book
for all elementary grades to read.

This book gets a 5 out of 5 for its creativity and fun with numbers and
colors.

Games house is very user friendly. Kids can create their own log in and
keep track of their games. There are many familiar games such as wheel of
fortune and uno. Also, many new games that a student would have to become
familiar with but are not necessarily educational. There is a lot of
advertisements and sales adds that are on this site which I don't like.


This site gets a 3 of 5 for having good sites but also is not very
educational.

Fun brain is a great web site that has games and also online books and a
math arcade. This is a good website because the students are playing fun
games and learning at the same time. Additionally, there is a teachers
resource on this site.

This site gets a 5 out of 5 for being fun and educational.

Big fish games is a good game website. There are fun games with little
educational value and there is also games that require strategy, word
work and challenging brain games. There is a lot of games on this site.


This site receives a 4 out of 5 for having great games. They are not all
educational which makes them loose a point.

Science Websites- Annotated Bibliography

Science for kids is geared toward upper elementary. This is a sight
dedicated to educating students about science and agriculture. There are
science projects available, slideshows and also has a teachers resource
section.

I give this site a 4 out of 5 for its interesting and educational point
of view.

This website is super cool. There are experiments, lessons, facts,
games, quizzes and lessons. This site also invites students to a science
fair. This is a great resource for students to find out interesting facts
for themselves and is a place where questions can get answered.

I give this site a 5 out of 5 because its good and students will learn from exploration on this website

Aside from having the name, weird science kids, this site is very good.
There are many interesting experiments that students can do at home.
Additionally there are videos to watch and a nasa image of the day.

This site receives a 4 out of 5 for having a fun, educational and user
friendly website.



Math Games- Annotated Bibliography

This website it not very visually appealing. There are many different
kinds of games. However, as a new user I had a hard time understanding
how to play. This website was geared toward older students who have good
computer skills. This website does not have very many applicable math
concepts for what upper elementary students are learning.

This website gets a 2 out of 5 for being challenging to figure
out.

Math games for kids is a good website. The games are easy to understand
and will challenge a student on what they desire to learn regarding math.
Additionally, this site has games for specific holidays and seasons.
There are not many games to choose from.

This website has many fun math games. They are focused on subtraction,
multiplication and division. Additionally, there are integrated games
that include geography, are, music etc.

This site receives a 4 out of 5 for fun games that help master math
skills.
